Changes to Creative Cloud Synced files

Adobe are discontinuing Creative Cloud Synced files for Creative Cloud for Enterprise from 3 February 2025.

What are synced files?

Creative Cloud enables users to save files on their local devices in a folder called Creative Cloud Files. The contents of this folder can be synced (copied) to the user's cloud storage via a process that runs on the local device. Files can be accessed locally on the device in a folder named Creative Cloud Files or through the Creative Cloud website within the Launch more menu (Synced files option). Folders and files synced to Creative Cloud through these means may also be shared with other Creative Cloud users. Creative Cloud Synced files are also integrated into some of Adobe’s mobile applications, including Photoshop and Express.

From 3 February 2025, new Creative Cloud users will no longer have the option to use Creative Cloud file syncing and related cloud storage for file-based assets.

Is there an alternative?

Cloud Documents is available in Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe Express. This enables saving and access to your work across desktop, mobile, and web surfaces.

Creative Cloud Libraries is available in Creative Cloud applications and Adobe Express. This enables organisation, reuse and sharing of brand and creative assets.

What are my next steps?

Your assets will remain in your Creative Cloud Files folder on your device. However, Adobe recommend that you move assets to to one of the solutions mentioned above or at the least, back up your content locally to a location other than your local Creative Cloud Files folder.

 

If you want to download files before February 3, 2025:

  1. Open the Creative Cloud desktop app.
  2. Select the Cloud activity icon in the upper right corner, which will indicate the status of your sync.
  3. If your sync is paused, select the play icon to resume syncing. 

With syncing enabled, all your synced content will exist on your local device in the following folder destinations: Windows

C:\Users\<Username>\Creative Cloud Files

macOS

Mac HD/Users/<Username>/Creative Cloud Files

These files will remain in your local folder, and you can access them at all times. However, as above, Adobe recommend you move assets to a cloud storage solutions with sync capabilities or at the least, back up your content locally to a location other than your local Creative Cloud Files folder.


  1. Visit https://assets.adobe.com/files.
  2. Navigate to the subfolder containing the files you wish to download.
  3. To download files, select the 3 dots on the bottom right of each file and select download.
