Your address book allows you to save contacts, and create groups of contacts to use with TextOnline. This can be an alternative to using TextCampaign to send messages to groups of users, for example if you regularly send messages to the same group of users. Managing groups Adding a group Select TextOnline from the top menu, and then select New Contact Group from the left hand menu. Enter the Group Name and click Add Contact Group. Adding and removing group members Select TextOnline from the top menu, and then select Contact Group Members from the left hand menu. From the dropdown, select the Contact Group you want to change. Contacts who are not members of the group will be listed on the left. Existing group members will be listed on the right. Highlight the contact you want and use the Add >> and << Remove buttons to change their membership. You can select multiple contacts by using the shift or control keys. Importing users from a file If you have a large number of users to add to your address book, you may want to import their details from a file. Step one: create your data file This should be in the following format: first name, last name, mobile number. You can also include a fourth column with a group name. The mobile number can be entered with or without both a leading zero and a country code. You don’t need a header row. You can create the file in Excel, but you must save it as CSV (Comma Delimited) Step two: import your data Select Import / Export Contacts from the Address Book section in the left hand menu. Browse to select your file. Select your Contact Group options. If you have included the group name in your file, select Take group from file. Otherwise, select the group you want to add the contacts to, or No Group. Click Upload File. If your upload is successful you will see a confirmation message at the top of the screen.
