Hybrid Classroom

Hybrid Classroom is a mode of teaching delivery under the banner of Hybrid Teaching. It is also known as Hybrid Synchronous Teaching

Collaborate, Teams, Zoom

Hybrid Classroom is provisioned for academic staff to speak to and interact with online students and on campus students at the same time while in a teaching space. This is enabled by videoconferencing software such as Collaborate, Teams or Zoom.

Although they might share the same camera and microphones, these platforms work differently to Media Hopper Replay, our lecture recording service, which can record and live stream the audio and video material presented to students within a teaching space. More on that can be found here

The provision for Hybrid Classroom across both central and specialist teaching spaces is currently at a pilot stage. We encourage any staff wanting to use this facility to contact your School IT or Learning Technology staff in the first instance.

More about the Hybrid Classroom pilot can be found on our SharePoint page
