Hybrid Classroom

Hybrid Classroom is a mode of teaching delivery under the banner of Hybrid Teaching. It is also known as Hybrid Synchronous Teaching

Hybrid Classroom enables academic staff to teach and interact with both online and on-campus students simultaneously while in a teaching space. This is supported by videoconferencing platforms such MS Teams.

While these platforms may use the same cameras and microphones within a room, they operate differently from Media Hopper Replay, our lecture recording service, which records and can live stream the audio and video presented within a teaching space. Further information about Media Hopper Replay can be found here.

Hybrid Classroom is available across a range of central and specialist teaching spaces. Staff who wish to use this facility should contact their School IT or Learning Technology team in the first instance for advice and support.

For further information on Hybrid Classroom please refer to our sharepoint page.

Please note that the University will be retiring the Zoom platform (from end of March 2026). Staff should use MS Teams as the replacement platform.
