Using the service

Where, when and how to use and access the User Testing Service.

The User Testing Service is typically used during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase of a project, where end users, subject matter experts or business representatives need to confirm that a change delivers the expected results. 

Examples include: 

  • System upgrades 
  • New software development and releases 
  • Changes to existing services 
  • Regression testing following a fix or change 
  • Browser or compatibility testing 
  • Confirmation that requirements have been met 

The service is delivered through RTM in Jira. RTM supports the full testing process by allowing projects to create and manage: 

  • Requirements 
  • Test cases 
  • Test plans 
  • Test executions 
  • Defects 

Project Managers usually arrange access and assign test executions to testers. Testers receive an email notification when test executions are assigned to them.

Accessing the Service 

If you believe you should have access or should be using the service for an existing project, please check with your Project Manager in the first instance. 

Users who already have access can access RTM through the relevant Jira project: 

  1. Open the Jira project 
  1. Select RTM from the left-hand toolbar
