Introduction

An introduction to the User Testing Service

The User Testing Service is designed to help software projects carry out and track their user acceptance testing (UAT).

Why is User Testing Important?

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) is an important part of software development because a piece of software needs to work as it was intended for users. User Acceptance Testing is an opportunity to catch functional, workflow, usability and other issues and to have them addressed before a service goes live. Doing this efficiently can rapidly lead to resolution of issues or defects.

Why Use the User Testing Service?

The Testing Service is currently based on a platform called TestRail. It allows project teams to:

  • Manage, organise and track testing efforts in one central place
  • Create and assign targeted test runs to suit your project
  • Generate detailed progress and summart reports
  • Update and reuse test scripts from previous projects
