A team in Miro is a shared workspace where members can collaborate, create, and store their boards and projects. Teams can be as large or small as needed, such as a department, class, or even a college. Teams are also where permissions can be defined for Boards created within a Team, such as to specify how Boards can be shared. Miro users can be members of multiple teams. Teams creation: Miro teams creation is available for staff, visiting staff, and postgraduate students. Please note: Postgraduate students must ask a staff member to fill out the form on their behalf. If you're in ECA please see the information in the following link. Request team creation: Use this form to request creation of a team in Miro. Team Administration: When creating a team, it's essential to assign team administrators. We recommend having at least two team administrators for each team. These administrators are responsible for managing team membership and board access. External user access External users cannot be added to the 'All Staff and Students' team in Miro, this is for internal collaboration. If you require the addition of external users to a team, please request the creation of a new team with the External Collaboration template. You will then be able to add external users to this team. This is important if you require to share boards with External users, or would like to restrict boards to be unable to be shared outwith the team. Team Templates For streamlined team creation, we offer a range of templates with standardised settings. While team admins have control over certain settings, others require intervention from a Miro Company Administrator. Please consider your team's purpose and future use case when selecting a template, although settings may be changed once the template has been selected. For settings a team administrator can change please use the provided link. Here's a brief overview of each template: Internal Collaboration Template: Perfect for internal projects, allowing seamless communication and collaboration within our organization. External Collaboration Template: Tailored for collaborations with external stakeholders, clients, or partners, ensuring secure collaboration with privacy and access controls. Confidential Collaboration Template: Ideal for sensitive projects requiring heightened confidentiality. By default access is restricted to users with a University of Edinburgh account. Additional external domains can be provided for collaboration with outside parties when using the team creation request form. Public View Template: Designed for sharing content publicly while limiting editing capabilities, ideal for showcasing information to a wider audience while maintaining control over modifications. Public Edit Template: Geared towards collaborative sessions like workshops, facilitating real-time editing and contribution by multiple participants. Suitable for agile brainstorming and co-creation. Note: If sharing publicly, boards will require a separate password for access to maintain security. Need any help? Please initially see the Miro Help & Support section.
