Information Services provides a number of file and disk storage services. These include file servers, file backup, long-term archive and ftp services. Some of these services are provided by Storage Area Networks (SANs). Backup Information Services provides file backup services to ensure security of the data on our systems. Archive The computer archive service provides a long-term storage system for computer files. FTP The Edinburgh FTP server is managed by Information Services. It holds information which may be useful to people in the University and space is provided for individuals and groups upon request. Upload facilities are also available.
