Main Software Deals

This section contains the main software agreements and special deals we administer for the University. Choose an agreement to see who is eligible and how to get the software. Please note that we do not recommend specific software or assist with individual license purchases.

 

Code Request Forms

Below is a list of software products you can request codes/access for. Many of these products renew annually.  If your codes have expired please re-request codes for the current year.

Adobe

Software Services Team administer Adobe ETLA agreement to purchase *annual* subscriptions to Adobe products for the University. Adobe licenses run 1st September to 31st August each year.

ArcGIS

Details of the university's ArcGIS site license.

EndNote

Software Services administers a site license subscription for EndNote.  EndNote is used for managing references and bibliographies.

FCS Express

FCS Express is a premier flow and image cytometry data analysis software with a modern, Microsoft Office™ style interface.

FlowJo

Software Services administers an annual subscription agreement for FlowJo. FlowJo is the leading platform for single-cell flow cytometry analysis that helps you interpret your data quickly and effectively with accessible features for immunophenotyping, cell cycle analysis, proliferation, kinetics studies, quantitative population comparison, high-dimensional analysis and more.

GraphPad Prism

GraphPad Prism is a software program that helps users analyse and graph scientific data.

Mathematica

Details of the university's Mathematica site license agreements. Mathematica is used in scientific, engineering, mathematical, and other areas of technical computing.

Matlab

Details of the university's Mathworks TAH site license for MATLAB.

Microsoft

Microsoft products are widely used at the university and at home by staff and students for university work.

MindGenius

The MindGenius application is based around the concept of mind-mapping, which allows the user to capture large amounts of disparate information and gives them the ability to view content from different viewpoints.

Minitab

Minitab is a popular statistical analysis package for scientific applications, in particular for design and analysis of experiments, time series, charts and plots.

NVivo

NVivo is qualitative data analysis software for work with very rich text and multimedia information.

RSpace

RSpace (ResearchSpace) is an eLab Notebook (ELN) designed for research groups and labs produced by Scottish company ResearchSpace. Software Services manage an annual university subscription.

SAS

SAS is an integrated system for statistical analysis, data mining and data warehousing, a business favourite.

SPSS

Details of the university's SPSS site licenses. SPSS products are particularly good for surveys, data manipulation and a wide variety of analyses.

If we don't have the software you need

Occasionally, Software Services call for interest in collaborating on a software site license or special deal. Use the Software Interest form to call for interest or highlight other software you'd like to a university deal for. We are unable to assist with individual license purchases.

We will consider requests based on several criteria, including:

  • Number of users/Schools currently using software
  • Appeal to other users/Schools
  • Whether funding is available
  • Whether similar software is currently available.

Before filling out the form, please discuss your requirements with your local IT team and check the main deals to see if a deal already exists.
