The University of Edinburgh is delighted to be partnering with BioRender. To support the academic community, we are excited to offer an affordable solution to create stunning, publication-quality graphics that effectively convey complex scientific concepts.


BioRender licences renew on 9 February each year, regardless of when the licence is purchased.

Order via Software Licence Request Form

Once you have submitted the form, you will be given access to the University license, and the Software Services team will invite you to join the BioRender by email. 

Each individual user requires their own licence for publishing rights and copyrights to their images and files.

Renews at £130 annually for the full year licence.

Price is subject to change each year depending on currency fluctuations. 

Please always include the end user's name, UUN and email address along with the product name in any orders.

Can I get a refund for my existing paid licence?

Yes, you can. The options available are:

  • Individual annual subscriber: contact support@biorender.com for a prorated refund once we have activated your account
  • Individual monthly subscriber: cancel your subscription once you have activated your account
  • Existing lab license (more than five users): contact support@biorender.com before joining the new licence
