Card not working

If a University card appears not to work in ANY of the access control doors or turnstiles around the Universiy, there are a number of possible reasons.

  • The card itself could be faulty. In this case, the IS Helpdesk will be able to arrange for a replacement card to be issued.
  • The card has been deleted from the access control system, because a staff contract has expired, a student course has come to an end, or a student has not paid their fees.
  • The card is brand new (not a replacement) and the card details have not yet been loaded into the access control system. The system is updated overnight, so the card should work the following day.
