Popularised by ChatGPT, GAI is revolutionising approaches to research, teaching and internal business processes and ELM can assist all staff and students to experiment and leverage this powerful new technology.ELM is provisioned by the Information Services Group (ISG) through EDINA, meaning users also benefit by having local support and assistance. We encourage widespread uptake and are actively engaging with end users to determine existing uses and to extend the use of this technology across all areas of university endeavours. ELM is for everyone and provides some key benefits over accessing AI through other methods.You can access a wider range of AI Large Language models through ELM including the very latest and most powerful versions of ChapGPT, as well as, coming soon, Open Source LLMs.Your data is secure and will not be used by 3rd party services to train their models or for any other purpose as the University has a Zero Data Retention agreement with OpenAI which assures that your data is secure and private.
