The Unidesk Configuration Management Database (CMDB) project is now underway. An important project which will significantly enhance the University Help Desk system UniDesk is now underway. The configuration management database (CMDB) will hold information about the components of the information systems used in an our IT services and the relationships between those components. The CMDB will provide an organised view of our system configuration data and functionality for viewing and reporting on this data from multiple perspectives e.g. all of the system components used to deliver our Student Records system. The main benefits of the CMDB for the University include:- more cost effective management of IT services- reduced downtime through more effective change management underpinned by better impact analysis- better risk management and improved security- improved compliance with technology and legislative requirements- better service for staff and students .The CMDB will underpin the Incident, Problem and Change & Release process, and will also ensure that Unidesk provides a more comprehensive Service Management solution for the University.Further information about the project can be found at:SMI003 Unidesk CMDB News listing Search Tags Publication date Date from Date to Migration project aims to improve language administration software 17 July, 2020 CLASS, the software used to manage English language placements for visiting students, is being… Project procures new tool for improved ethics management process 03 July, 2020 A new tool for use in processing ethics approval requests and management has been procured for use… Student Course Load into Library System Alma 01 July, 2020 A collaborative project between Applications and Library & University Collections to support… University eInvoicing Solution 26 June, 2020 A recent project has focussed on the implementation of a new eInvoicing solution which facilitates… Upgrade of Web Hosting Servers successfully delivered 24 June, 2020 The current web hosting servers, which host over 600 University websites, have been upgraded to the… COVID-19 Critical Care Online Course 18 June, 2020 An online resource for frontline healthcare staff is launching as a formal online course, with 100%… Supporting the University web estate 17 June, 2020 As the Covid-19 crisis moves more of our services than ever online, our web estate has become the… New system for improved Risk Management 17 June, 2020 A new risk management system is being implemented to better assist risk owners across the… CMVM Research Computing Overview 17 June, 2020 The College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine Research Computing Induction project has delivered… Online and Digital Events Service Launched 17 June, 2020 The new Online and Digital Events Service has been launched, designed to support any part of the… … 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 … This article was published on 2024-10-08
