Summer Internships On Offer This year we had over 50 summer internships available across several sectors. These included Tech & AI, Communications & Marketing, Project Management, Heritage Collections and Data Analysis. Our summer internships were paid between £12.67 to £15.82 per hour, plus hourly holiday pay. Alongside summer internships, we have ~150 active part-time student staff members during each academic year. Please see below our website, where you can view our current term-time positions. As mentioned above, 2026 summer internships are expected to be advertised in February 2026, but we hire a lot of term-time student staff across the academic year. View Current Positions in ISG Eligibility and How to Apply To apply to any of our upcoming internships you MUST be a current University of Edinburgh undergraduate student in your 1st, 2nd or 3rd Year of study. We will also accept applications from 4th year undergraduates in their penultimate year of study. We cannot accept applications from graduating students who will not be matriculated in Academic Year 2025/26.ISG operates a hybrid working policy, so you must also be based in Edinburgh for the summer; we also do not allow any work to be undertaken abroad. We allow students to take a short holiday during the summer, so you can still apply even if you require some time off. If you want to apply for any of our positions, you must do so through our Unitemps Website. We require an up-to-date CV and cover letter for all positions. You must apply before the deadline stated in the final section of the advert, any applications after the deadline will not be considered. Application Guidance We highly recommend you take your time when applying for our internships. They are highly competitive but by following the guidance available on this page, you will have a great chance of being asked to interview. You would be better to focus on a few internships that are well suited to your skillset and your future career plans, rather than applying to a large variety. For that reason, we advise that you apply for a maximum of 3 ISG internships. Please see our Application Guidance document below for our best advice on how to write a quality CV, and a cover letter which will score highly when being assessed by our hiring managers. On the document, you will see a range of links we’ve provided, which we’d also recommend reviewing before starting your application. All interns were invited to a welcome lunch, with a chance to meet fellow interns and university staff. Across the summer as they completed their internships, they had opportunities to attend over 10 training and development sessions and a range of social events. At the end of the internship programme, Interns prepared a short, 5-minute presentation to colleagues, which allowed them to reflect on their achievements over the summer. For some internships, there may be the possibility of extending into a term-time position (under 15 hours/week) however, that is very much dependent on team requirements and budget.
