The University is legally obliged to bring the information in this section to your attention.

As required by UK legislation, the University draws to the attention of all users of the University's data and telephone networks the fact that their communications may be intercepted as permitted by legislation.

Information Services, and other service providers in the University, holds user registration data and various information on the use of the University's computer systems and networks; this includes log-in and log-out times, printing logs, World Wide Web cache logs, door access control logs and network traffic logging.

Users should be aware that the Terrorism Act (2000) makes it an offence for an individual to collect or make a record of information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism; or to possess a document or record containing information of that kind (eg a terrorist training manual).
