The Communications Infrastructure Services Section (CIS) is responsible for delivery of a number of communications-related services to the University . Our mission is to enable: People, computers and other network-capable devices to communicate within the University and with the wider world. The right people to be given access to the right places at the right times. Monitoring of the University estate to protect people, property and buildings. We are responsible for: Installing, maintaining and developing an advanced, economic and reliable telecommunications infrastructure which meets the University’s needs for both data and voice communications. Installing, maintaining and developing an door access control and alarm monitoring system which meets the University’s needs In discharging these responsibilities, we strive to: Maintain a clear focus on the needs of our service users. Maintain and grow users’ and customers’ trust in the services by ensuring appropriate levels of reliability, resilience and security. Develop the technical and leadership capabilities of our staff through formal and informal awareness, training and mentoring activities.
