The configuration management database (CMDB) will hold information about the components of the information systems used in an our IT services and the relationships between those components. The CMDB will provide an organised view of our system configuration data and functionality for viewing and reporting on this data from multiple perspectives e.g. all of the system components used to deliver our Student Records system. The main benefits of the CMDB for the University include:- more cost effective management of IT services- reduced downtime through more effective change management underpinned by better impact analysis- better risk management and improved security- improved compliance with technology and legislative requirements- better service for staff and students .The CMDB will underpin the Incident, Problem and Change & Release process, and will also ensure that Unidesk provides a more comprehensive Service Management solution for the University.Further information about the project can be found at:SMI003 Unidesk CMDB News listing Search Tags Publication date Date from Date to Vets and ISG team up to fundraise for Ukraine 04 May, 2022 Staff from across the University of Edinburgh have come together to support the people of Ukraine… Update for the old, in with the new: HR and Payroll System Annual Maintenance success 04 May, 2022 You'll have heard about the highly successful transition to People and Money for April's… Making business information reporting better and more secure than ever 15 April, 2022 The University of Edinburgh’s primary information reporting and analysis tool is set to be enhanced… Top marks for EUCLID changes 15 April, 2022 Key changes have been made to the University of Edinburgh’s Student Systems to help staff and… Core Systems strategies to boost University service approved 12 April, 2022 A raft of strategies for key areas in the University of Edinburgh’s services and systems have been… Learn Ultra navigation Summer 2022 08 April, 2022 The Learn Ultra team are working closely with Schools and Deaneries who have become partners… 23 Things course wins Design Technology Award for 2022 08 April, 2022 At this year’s OLC Innovate conference, our 23 Things for Digital Knowledge course was awarded the… RapidILLs for Ukraine 08 April, 2022 Ex Libris is now offering all Ukrainian libraries free use of their Rapid ILL interlibrary loan… Employability and the Student Experience with Heritage Collections 08 April, 2022 Heritage Collections offers a variety of programs that contribute to student employability and… uCreate Supporting the Student Experience 08 April, 2022 uCreate is supporting the Student Experience with a wide range of equipment and technology, these… … 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 … This article was published on 2024-10-08
