The configuration management database (CMDB) will hold information about the components of the information systems used in an our IT services and the relationships between those components. The CMDB will provide an organised view of our system configuration data and functionality for viewing and reporting on this data from multiple perspectives e.g. all of the system components used to deliver our Student Records system. The main benefits of the CMDB for the University include:- more cost effective management of IT services- reduced downtime through more effective change management underpinned by better impact analysis- better risk management and improved security- improved compliance with technology and legislative requirements- better service for staff and students .The CMDB will underpin the Incident, Problem and Change & Release process, and will also ensure that Unidesk provides a more comprehensive Service Management solution for the University.Further information about the project can be found at:SMI003 Unidesk CMDB News listing Search Tags Publication date Date from Date to Exploring the University's Cultural Heritage Collection Online 20 April, 2021 The University’s Digital Library program is working to launch an online exhibitions platform to… Annual Start of Term IT and Library Business Readiness Project 13 April, 2021 The Information Services Group is working across teams to prepare for 2021 start of term activities… Implementing A Cloud-Based Delivered Catering System 09 April, 2021 The University is moving forward with updating its Delivered Catering system to meet customer… Automating the University's Media Monitoring 06 April, 2021 Information Services is helping the Communications and Marketing team to automate their process for… Cara Syria Programme Support 31 March, 2021 The Digital Skills and Training team are providing an Introduction to Excel webinar to help with… Building a website to meet global demand for online learning 29 March, 2021 The pandemic caused an unprecedented shift to online learning and one year on we see evidence for… Centre for Open Learning Strategic Way Forward 26 March, 2021 The Information Services team collaborated with the Centre for Open Learning to provide options for… Pure Upgrade Facilitates Research Excellence Framework 2021 Submission 23 March, 2021 The recent upgrade to Pure completes a four year plan to ensure the University is able to make its… Improving the Online Assessment and Progression Experience 16 March, 2021 The Student Systems Partnership (SSP) recently completed a multi-year project to enhance the online… VOiCE: Volunteers in Collections Engagement 15 March, 2021 Meet the Team … 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 … This article was published on 2024-10-08
