Student Partnership (Internship)

Each summer, Learning, Teaching and Web Services (LTW) employ 10 Learn Foundations student interns for 12-weeks to work in partnership with the Service and Project teams responsible for managing the digital learning environment and associated learning technology tools.

During the internship, the interns support the start of term readiness programme by ensuring courses are the upcoming academic year are ready for our course staff to begin to populate their courses in time for teaching.  

 

Headlines from the annual internship 

 

  • Over 90 Learn Foundations interns have been employed by LTW with many returning year on year, whilst they complete their studies.  
  • Over 40, 000 courses reviewed since the internship started in 2019. 
  • Each year, the interns undertake an accessibility review into each School, providing recommendations on where, if required, course accessibility can be enhanced.  
  • Support Schools on ‘start of term project activity’ to help with preparedness for the upcoming academic year. 
  • Take part in usability testing and research to help provide insights into the student experience.  
  • Become advocates within their courses for the work being delivered by LTW and supported via the Learn Foundations internship.  

 

With the introduction of the LOUISA project, the interns supported the Early Adopter Teams in course preparations.
