Resources

Browse our collection of resources, designed to support you and your colleagues when using the Learn Foundations Approach. We recognise that not everyone will be at the same place when creating their course(s) so the below journey has been created to allow colleagues to step in/out of the process as required:

Getting Started with the Learn Foundations Approach

To get you started, we have collated some resources that we feel are helpful for anyone at the beginning of their course build journey but can equally help as a reminder for seasoned course builders:

  • Training: Whilst there is no specific training on the Learn Foundations Approach, there is a multitude of Learning Technology training courses that can help enhance your knowledge of using Learn and we would recommend starting here if you are unsure of where to start.

  • Course Checklist: When you’re ready to begin your course build, have a look at our course checklist (Requires SSO access).  This provides helpful guidance on where to start when building your Learn course, providing helpful links to further supporting information.

  • Accessibility Checklist: As with the course checklist, when you are building your course(s), the accessibility checklists helps with ensuring your course(s) are built with accessibility in mind.

  • Terminology: Consistency is a core value of the Learn Foundations approach and to support with this, a Glossary of Terms has been created to help drive consistent language within the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

Getting Going with the Learn Foundations Approach

Once you’re started with your course build(s), the below resources may be helpful by providing additional support and guidance when using the Learn VLE:

  • Copyright and Open Education Resources (OER): A checklist to help embedding, integrating or using teaching materials created by others.

  • Learning Technology Induction Pack: As there is a variety of different learning technologies used across the University, the Learning Technology Induction Pack has been designed to introduce colleagues to the centrally support learning technology services.
