PebblePad Data Retention

Information about data retention and account management in PebblePad and ATLAS.

In order to comply with Data Protection law and to ensure our licenses for services are manageable, we delete user accounts from PebblePad in line with the University of Edinburgh's Account Expiry Policy.  Students can take their PebblePad accounts with them, as alumni, when they finish at the University (keep your PebblePad account beyond graduation).  

If you haven't logged into your PebblePad account for more than 4 years, we will email you as we plan to remove accounts for anyone who hasn't logged in for a long time - however, you will be able to request to keep your account and we'll provide instructions on how to do this in the email.

Submissions in ATLAS are different, deletions of PebblePad accounts do not impact anything submitted to ATLAS.  We will annually highlight older workspaces to be deleted (a minimum of one year will have passed since all student users were deleted from PebblePad) and will provide guidance on how to keep a copy if your data retention schedules require you to hold onto assessment submissions for a longer time.
