Learn Foundations was a 3-year project which ran from 2018 to 2021 and aimed to provide students with courses on Learn that meet their needs and provide the staff who design courses with the relevant skills, knowledge and guidance to do so by removing unnecessary complexities from within the VLE. The project vision was: “Courses in Learn are accessible, and relevant information is easy to find by students. Staff find Learn easy to use and are well supported to make and deliver rich courses online.” During the Learn Foundations project, a programme of User Experience (UX) was undertaken that helped identify pain points within the VLE for both staff and students. The Learn Foundations project defined, created and implemented the Learn Foundations approach along with the Learn Foundations Internship where, each summer, Schools are supported in their preparatory work to get courses ready for teaching in the new academic year.
