From the beginning of the 23/24 academic year, all new courses will be delivered using an updated Learn interface. In order to ensure that users can access support materials for current and previous year courses we have kept old support materials on Edweb pages and created a new Sharepoint Learn site full of useful resources for the new interface. Below is a summary of the different assessment options. Assignments and Coursework Learn Assignments can be used to submit written text directly into submission, or students can upload a file as their submission. Learn accept most common file types such as MS Word, PDF, MS PowerPoint, and many image formats. It is also possible to submit your work stored in Media Hopper as an assignment. If your school uses Turnitin to manage your assignments, this tool is seamlessly integrated from within your Learn course. Blackboard Help | Assignments Assignments Online Tests & Surveys It is possible to create tests and quizzes within your Learn course. There is a wide variety of question types available within Learn, the most common being MCQ in a variety of formats. These questions can be automatically marked which makes these quizzes ideal for formative assessment where feedback can be delivered automatically. Blackboard Help | Tests, Surveys, and Pools Video Assignments : Media Hopper Create The option to create an assignment drop box within Learn for students to submit their media content from their Media Hopper Create account for feedback and assessment. Group Submissions When you need groups of students to work collaboratively to produce a piece of coursework it is possible to create a Group Assignment where a group can submit a single piece of work and receive the same grade across the group. Blackboard Help | Group Assignments Create group assignments Peer Assessment There are a number of tools available to support a variety of peer assessment, evaluation, and feedback within Learn. More information can be found on the different tools: Turnitin PeerMark WebPA Learn - Self and Peer Assessment Similarity checking Turnitin is available within the University to provide a Similarity Report into a marking and feedback interface. Turnitin is integrated into Learn to allow for students to submit their work from within a course as well as get access to marks and feedback when they are released. Marking, Grades, and Feedback Grade Centre The Grade Centre within Learn is the central management area within each course that can be used to provide marking and feedback for any assessed activity within the course. The management tools within the Grade Centre makes it easy to track submissions and release marks to the students. Blackboard Help | The Grade Centre Navigate grading Turnitin Marking and Feedback Interface Turnitin is also fully integrated into the Learn Grade Centre to allow for marking and feedback to be compiled within the Feedback Studio with the marking and comments synchronised into the Learn Grade Centre.
