WebPA (Web Peer Assessment) in an online tool that enables peer moderation of group work, so that each member is given recognition for their individual contribution. A quick introduction A well-known criticism of assessed group work is that each student receives the same team mark, regardless of individual performance. This can have a detrimental effect on the motivation of individuals to contribute to the work of the group. Image WebPA allows each team member to assess the contribution made by their group peers towards the final group mark, based on criteria set by the tutor. The system then calculates an ‘individual’ mark for each member.
