ThingLink User Guide

We recommend familiarising yourself with our bespoke ThingLink User Guide and consulting the guidance as you develop your own ThingLinks. This comprehensive guide contains lots of key information on good practice for creating open, accessible interactive content.


The ThingLink User Guide includes step-by-step guidance on how to:

  • Get Started - Set up an account, create a ThingLink in six steps, customise settings, manage and share content.
  • Open Education - Open license your ThingLink creations, and find and use open educational resources (OER).
  • Accessibility - Design accessible content and use the accessibility features within the ThingLink platform.
  • Advanced - Create 360° images with a mobile device and convert them to use in your ThingLinks.

The ThingLink blog contains practical resources and inspiration for using interactive media. It features teaching strategies, real-world case studies, step-by-step tutorials, and insights into digital pedagogy to help educators create engaging, immersive learning experiences. The blog also supports professional development through webinars, training, and certification opportunities, making it a valuable tool for teachers looking to enhance their digital teaching skills.


If you would like to develop your ThingLink skills to a more advanced level, you can complete ThingLink's Certified Creator Course. The course is self-paced and delivered within ThingLink. It consists of a series of modules from introductory (e.g. overview of the platform, uploading images, using tags.) to advanced (e.g. virtual reality, AI, 360-degree images). You can complete the course to earn a certificate and 3D badge to showcase your skills.


ThingLink offers a Learning Center where you can find out more about creating interactive content through case studies, exploring live examples from around the world, and look at key support resources to help get you started with creating your own ThingLinks. You can access the Learning Center anytime from your ThingLink dashboard by clicking on the 'Resources' icon (graduation cap) in the top right next to the settings cog wheel.


ThingLink's Support Hub is a searchable bank of key articles and support resources containing step-by-step guidance and key information about everything from accounts and billing to managing users and product updates.


ThingLink has its own YouTube channel where you can find a wealth of examples, webinars, demonstrations and latest update videos. We encourage you to spend some time exploring the channel and their playlists, and don't forget to subscribe for the latest updates!
