Explore ways for you to use blogging at the University of Edinburgh by learning more about our Academic Blogging Service. We will be launching a new blogging service on the 2nd of October (2018). It will include a number of blogging tools which are already available plus a brand new WordPress blogging platform (blogs.ed.ac.uk). The launch will include new documentation and guidance on the usage of our suite of tools and information about our new blogs.ed.ac.uk platform. The guidance will also provide advice on which tool best fits your particular need. Please see our Academic Blogging Vision statement for further details: Academic blogging project vision statement Blogs.ed.ac.uk This new platform will allow staff and research postgraduates to create a blog using an online form. Undergraduate and taught postgraduate students will be directed to an appropriate academic where a blog is required for learning. You’ll be able to use this blogging service for a number of purposes: Developing a School, departmental, unit or other community blog. Developing your own personal blog – to promote your research or to give you a place to reflect on ideas. Using blogs for teaching, learning and/or assessment purposes. The service will allow WordPress blogs to be easily created either standalone or via your preferred VLE. To keep it easy to use and secure, a limited collection of plugins and themes will be made available, but these should suit the majority of users. Keep checking back here for more information about the service and details of the launch date. But I want to blog now! You may not know that we have blogging tools that are available already.
