Privacy Statement relating to the Short Course Enquiry Management, which provides information about how your data is used when you use the our service.

Why do we collect your information (Short Course Platform)

We collect your information to allow us to provide support to any enquiries submitted by a learner.

We obtain personal data by either an enquiry submitted by the Short Course website (via the ‘Contact Us’ webpage) or via email enquires.shortcourses@ed.ac.uk.

For purposes related to your query on a course and delivering the course to you, we will process your personal data on the lawful basis of performance of contract.

Your data will be shared with Short Course Enquiry Team and the relevant University staff who manage the course.

Sharing your information

We will share your information with the relevant school contacts if the query cannot be resolved by the Short Course Enquiry team.

IT Systems

We use an external company, called Crimson, as a data processor. Crimson provides support to the enquiry management platform which is part of the University's IT platform. This allows us, as data controllers, to administer our services on the University's behalf.

The other systems used to process your data and support your enquiry are part of the University’s corporately-supported IT architecture and are protected by the University’s security measures.

Retention Period

Enquiries are date tagged and will be associated with an enquiry window that is based between the 1st October to 30th of September every year. We will retain your data for the current enquiry window plus 1 year.
