NameDescriptionWorkaroundResolution Status
"Token Required" ErrorThis happens when some of the http requests that happen when you log in get lost or time out.
  1. If all of your students are in one room/area/lecture theatre/building, it could be that something in the local wifi/network is going wrong.
  2. For Apple devices - particularly older iPads - try upgrade to the latest iOS version.
  3. If they are asked to Reconnect or Shut Down, shut down the already running notebooks and launch it again.
Ongoing.
Formgrader Times out

Formgrader times out every 30 minutes during marking.

EDINA confirmed they are working on it.

A workaround is to run a python script in the background that will print something to the screen every 15 minutes. Ongoing.
Server Error (500)

1. Some users reported the Server Error (500) error. It happens when the user used a previous Noteable connection on their browser.

2. The database has an issue that impacted Noteable connection.

For 1, clear the old cookie from the browser, clear cache/history, and then access Noteable from the Learn course again.

If it does not work, report to is.helpline@ed.ac.uk and check for database connection.

Solved.

Forbidden TimeoutIf a container is left inactive for a long period of time (> 1 hour) you may find that you become stuck on a page with an error message "Forbidden Timeout". If this occurs you will not be able to launch Noteable.Re-connect from your Learn course again.User awareness.
Unable to download PDFIf the file contains an embedded image you will be unable to use the Download As > PDF via LaTex. This is a known Jupyter issue - https://github.com/jupyter/nbconvert/issues/1105Remove images from file if able to do so or use the Print function to Print as PDF.Currently listed as an issue with Jupyter, when a fix is released it will be incorporated into Noteable
Assignment Name should not contain symbols

Due to the file structure of Jupyter and nbgrader you cannot use / (forward slash) in assignment names. No error message will show but the assignment will not be created.

Brackets in assignment name may cause issues collecting submissions and therefore should not be used.

Unfortunately, there is no workaround for this, you are advised to avoid using symbols in assignment names. No solution available. For user awareness.
