What does IS Apps do for us?

IS Applications Division run a programme of Lunchtime Seminars to update colleagues, and share information on the work we do and the services we provide.

Past seminars have given staff a chance to see and try out DiscoverEd before it was launched, and to hear a success story demonstrating innovation and partnership working around the development of PATH - a course selection and programme building tool.

Stefan Kaempf, Head of Production Management, will lead the next seminar on “Availability, Resilience and Disaster Recovery”, looking at our delivery of services with great availability and how we actually perform against availability targets. Stefan will also be explaining what top and medium priority services are and how those priorities are managed.

The event will take place in Godfrey Thomson Hall, Thomson’s Land, Holyrood Campus (Moray House) - a sandwich lunch will be provided from 12:30pm with the seminar beginning at 1:00pm.

The seminars are open to any member of staff at the university. If you use the any of the university’s IT services and care about whether they work or not, this seminar is for you. This could also be an opportunity to give feedback in person to a senior member of the team, and you get a free lunch!
