Speeding up student record processes

The Student Systems Partnership are working to create a more integrated process for requests to be submitted and monitored within EUCLID.

At the moment staff submit student record change requests through an online form which sits outside EUCLID. It is then sent to a queue for the Student Records Team (SRT) to process. This causes double keying of data that is already held about the students and staff members, often creating some data inconsistencies and business inefficiencies.

Project SAC051 will remove this double data entry as well as speed up the time taken to submit and process requests.

A second benefit of the project will allow School/College staff to directly make changes to students’ undergraduate programme, as long as the change is within the same school. The benefits are:

  • immediate changes to straightforward change requests processed by schools
  • a visible queue will allow school staff to track change requests
  • reduce the SRT workload peak in September
  • remove the waiting times for completed requests

This is a great improvement in business efficiency and the student experience, as record changes will take effect almost immediately.
