A team from our Project Services section are currently working with the Procurement Office to carry out a review of procurement practices for lower value purchases. They will be assessing the different processes in play, with a view to improving procedures and the guidance available to staff. The University Procurement Office would like to make lower value procurement processes more uniform, and recognises the need to improve the guidance available. This project is focused only on the purchase of goods and services under £50,000. The aim in future is to provide enough information to make the process easier to engage with, for members of staff who are purchasing on behalf of their department. This proactive approach will ensure that the University continues to be in line with Scottish Government legislation on procurement in the public sector, as outlined in the Procurement Journey. The Procurement Journey is intended to support all levels of procurement activities and to help manage the expectations of stakeholders, customers and suppliers alike. It facilitates best practice and consistency across the Scottish public sector. Scottish Government Website Publication date 15 Jul, 2016
