Digital photograph submission for new staff

Newly employed staff at the University can now submit photographs electronically for their staff identity cards. Digital image submission already exists for students and this has now been extended to new employees.

Improving the experience of new employees is one of the aims of this joint project between IS Applications and the User Services Division. This change makes it easier and quicker for new members of staff to submit passport-style photographs and receive their new identity card.

Digital image submissions will mean using less paper, as well as eliminating the current process of having to scan in the physical images Card Services receive back in the post. Now a new card can be issued within one working day of it being submitted via the new digital image submission channel in MyEd, the University's web portal for students, staff, visitors, alumni and applicants.

The University as a whole issues over 2000 identity cards a year to staff every year and within Information Services, 30 photographs have been uploaded by new employees in the last month.
