IS and Student Systems have recently completed a project that has implemented a new process to deliver graduation registration within the Student Self Service Channel. The new process enhances the experience for students and improves back-office efficiency. Previously, graduating students would have access to an online web form to indicate their intention to attend a graduation ceremony. However there were inefficiencies for both students and staff in the process. Emails prompting students to fill in this form were managed manually, the data provided by students via the form was not held within the student records system and manual processing of data was required by support staff. The project team worked with recent graduates to deliver a simple and straightforward form, with enhanced interaction. The new process takes only a few minutes to complete. Students can now make their own updates, reducing the workload of the graduations team in dealing with such changes. Additionally, data is now stored securely in a central system providing the ability to produce centralised reports in the future. Publication date 14 Apr, 2017
