Lunchtime Seminar - Putting IT all together

A look at what Enterprise Architecture is all about and the difference it can make to how the University provides IT services to students and staff.

IS Applications Division runs a programme of Lunchtime Seminars to update colleagues and share information on what we do and the services we provide. The next seminar is on Thursday 6 October and will be run by Dave Berry, our Enterprise Architect.

Dave will talk about what the University’s online services would be like if they were designed from the perspective of students or members of staff, instead of the organisational units that provide them. He will consider how the services might appear to users, then work back from there to show what this implies for how we work, manage our data, and integrate our IT systems.

The event will take place in Godfrey Thomson's Hall, Thomson's Land, Holyrood Campus (Moray House) - a sandwich lunch will be provided from 12:30pm, with presentations and a Q&A running from 12:45-13:45. Spaces can be booked via this link https://www.events.ed.ac.uk/index.cfm?event=book&scheduleID=21813.
