The Wiki database and application have been upgraded ahead of the end of term In order to keep our services running at a supported level, the Wiki is upgraded annually to the latest version available at the time. For this project, this being v6.8. This year’s upgrade coincided with a planned database upgrade to bring it up to the latest version of Oracle. The undertaking of two upgrades in one project required a phased approach of database first, application second in order to minimise the risk of encountering issues, and for easier traceability should any be met. Both upgrades required an evening outage, coming back online the next day. The Wiki was completed well ahead of the scheduled downtime and was brought back on-line, albeit in read-only mode, that same evening.
