More than 500 prospective online students from 135 countries participated in live online learning open day sessions on 6 and 7 May to learn more about studying a masters degree online. Using online classroom and meeting space, Collaborate, the University hosted 84 live sessions across the two days, with 1,560 attendances across the sessions. The live sessions included presentations from subject-specific online masters programme teams, student support and admissions, library services and the careers service. Current online students and graduates from around the world contributed to the sessions by sharing stories of their experience as online learners with prospective students. Positive feedback 97% of participants would recommend the event to others and feedback from participants highlighted how useful they found the online event: I must commend you (and the Edinburgh online staff) on a brilliant virtual open day! It really displayed just how "available" the University is despite being 10,000km away. A very nicely organized and managed distance event. It gives me even more confidence in your “on-line skills". These events were outstanding and if I knew they would be so good, I would have participated in more sessions. Related links Postgraduate online degrees (Ed.
