The Main Library welcomed hundreds of new visitors, and offered library tours, during the 2018 CAHSS Post-Offer Visit Days on Wednesday 28 March and Wednesday 4 April. Post-Offer Visit Days offer those who have received an offer of a place, on participating undergraduate programmes for 2018 entry, a great opportunity to see and hear more about what is on offer at the university. A total of 818 visitors visited the Main Library over the two days, with the numbers on the second date (495) being significantly higher than the first (323), despite the challenging weather. 85 visitors took a tour on 28 March, guided by members of Help Services and Library & University Collections, and 151 on 4 April with the remainder being happy to take a self-guided tour with the aid of our leaflet. Our Welcome Desk recorded a total of 238 enquiries, many of which were directional, both to collections within the library and to other locations where talks were taking place, such as the Old Anatomy Lecture Theatre, the Architecture Library and Old College. One visitor asked whether we are a legal deposit library - no - and others wanted to know about reserving study spaces and PCs. Comments received were invariably favourable and included: "What a size" "I'm sold" "The views are fantastic!" (on the views from Floor 5) "We didn't have anything like this in my day" (a parent's comment on uCreate) (Ed. this article was originally published on 9 Apr, 2018) Publication date 05 Apr, 2018
