Project 'HAS001: COSHH Health Records' has successfully been deployed to LIVE and is now closed. COSHH stands for Control of Substances Hazardous to Health and the Health Passport System delivered was to comply with Regulation 11, which is that the University of Edinburgh must provide a consolidated Health Record for those members of the University community, both Staff and Students, who may encounter hazardous substances that are subject to health surveillance. Agile, with its iterative feedback and incremental delivery cycles, was used throughout the Project to successfully meet and respond to the requirements of the Health & Safety Department who embraced and supported the approach wholeheartedly throughout. A brand new application was written from scratch by the IS Applications Team, from requirements gathering, utilising wireframes and prototypes, that not only delivered an individual’s online Health Passport, meeting the regulatory requirement, but also has provided an electronic (paperless) restricted facility application and approval process that is fully audited.
