What we’re doing to improve accessibility We will continue to address the accessibility issues highlighted. Where issues are within our direct control, we will work to provide a significant improvement by September 2020 and have all issues resolved by December 2020. We will prioritise the issues we have identified with the use of keyboard navigation and with the use of Screen Readers with the aim of resolving these as quickly as possible. While we are in the process of resolving these accessibility issues, or where we are unable, we will ensure reasonable adjustments are in place to make sure no user is disadvantaged. As changes are made, we will continue to review accessibility and retest the accessibility of this website. Improvements made In September 2020 we resolved the issue of users not being able to use a keyboard to navigate to the check in and check out buttons Preparation of this accessibility statement This statement was prepared on 21st August 2020. It was last reviewed on 15th September 2020. This website form was last tested by the University of Edinburgh’s Disability Information Officer in September 2020 when new functionality was added. Initial testing was conducted in August 2020. Testing was done primarily using the Microsoft Edge and Chrome browsers. It was not possible to test in IE as the form is not compatible with this browser. We were also not able to undertake automated testing, using tools such WAVE WebAim as the form is password protected so all testing was undertaken manually. We tested all pages of the form. We tested: Spellcheck functionality Scaling using different resolutions and reflow Options to customise the interface (magnification, font, background colour et. cetera) Keyboard navigation Data validation Warning of links opening in a new tab or window Information conveyed in colour or sound only Flashing, scrolling or moving text Operability if JavaScript is disabled Use with screen reading software (eg. JAWS) Assistive Software (TextHelp Read and Write, ZoomText) Tooltips and text alternatives for any non-text content Time limits Provision of alt text for non-test items This article was published on 2024-10-08
