A new, single location will collate and organise the Systems and Applications owned by Estates. To help the daily workings of Estates, a new dashboard is currently in the works. Storing relevant information of computer systems, improving IT planning and standardising data, this new and single information location, using the ABACUS application, will improve productivity for Estates. Image Over the last few years, the Estates IT Team have captured and stored key information for all owned and IT systems managed by the Estates department. Systems that Estates use but do not own and manage, such as People and Money, are not included in this. The Enterprise Architecture team, together with Estates, aim to build on this work, but go deeper to capture all information, both IT and business related, for each system. Working to fit Estates’ specific needs, this database will provide a foundation for future projects and daily tasks. Colleagues will find they have a better understanding of all the systems currently in use. This will allow Estates and Information Services to better prioritise and manage future projects. Operational efficiency will be achieved through standardisation and consistency of data being collected. A catalogue has been developed to provide uniformity of the data which will improve overall productivity and effective data management. Publication date 05 Aug, 2024
