Miro migration complete!

Earlier this year, all Miro users were migrated over to the centrally-supported University licence, bringing many more opportunities to the table than before.

Miro is a real-time online ‘whiteboard’ platform that supports collaborative and cross-departmental projects. In March this year, all users across the University were ‘captured’ and migrated onto the new centrally-supported Miro service.

With increasing numbers of students and staff within the University, a considerable increase in demand for Miro has been noted. Information Services negotiated an agreement with Miro to organise this new centrally-supported service. Having already been adopted by 2,000 users in Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) since August 2021, its success combined with demand meant that 5,000 additional users from other areas of the University have been migrated.

Under this new agreement, users are able to access a wider range of tools, features, and services, including Enterprise-only integrations, all within a secure environment. One major opportunity is the access to unlimited collaborative boards, a fantastic change from the prior restrictions on the number users could access. Additionally, 3rd party platforms, including Jira, Teams, and Zoom have been integrated into Miro, further enhancing the user experience.

To log on, use your UUN@ed.ac.uk username for single sign-on (SSO) via Shibboleth.
