Lunchtime Seminar - Piloting major business change IS Applications Division run a programme of Lunchtime Seminars to update colleagues and share information on what we do and the services we provide. The presenters of this seminar include the heads of the University's Project Management Office and the Research Support Office. The new Worktribe system now manages over 4,000 active research projects across the University, which together attract over £300m worth of funding each year. The success of the full roll-out was underpinned by a live trial which ran from November 2015 to March 2016. The change was particularly challenging as it brought together the two worlds of pre-award and post-award research management into a single system. The four presenters will outline the following challenges: Developing a business case in a fast changing marketplace Working with a small software company to develop and enhance a new product Implementing at scale The various assumptions from the business case that had to be tested and challenged during the delivery Lastly, we will think about lessons learned for other business areas as you embark on your own major change programmes More information on our Lunchtime Seminar programme, with details of current/previous events and provisional dates for further seminars in 2016 can be found here.
