Assistive Technology equipment available for loan to Edinburgh University Staff The Service aims to support disabled staff in the workplace and to provide software, hardware or standard IT solutions that might be of help and assistance to Staff that may require it. There are a variety of ergonomic mice, keyboards and other Assistive Technology equipment available for loan to University Staff who would like to trial assistive hardware for suitability before purchase. Details of the Loan Service The service offers: Demonstration of a range of ergonomic mice & keyboards which can be borrowed for short term loan. Information about assistive software such as screen readers and voice activated software. A laptop with voice recognition and magnification software which can be borrowed for short term loan. A wide range of other miscellaneous assistive technology equipment for loan. To borrow an item of Accessible Technology equipment, please provide details of the item you wish to borrow – please include: Item Type / Make & Model / Serial Number. Click on the Loan request Form below - choose 'Other' and then add 'Assistive Technology Loan' for the Subject Title. This will create a Unidesk Call request. Please add all the required Item details to the Call. No private or sensitive medical information should be included in your request. Remember to specify whether you wish to view or test the item before borrowing it – a member of Staff can demonstrate the item to you if required. Request a loan via our Form The loan period for each item is 28 days, which can then be renewed for a further 28 days. Batteries must be provided (and removed) by the borrower where required. If an item should be lost or damaged, it is expected that the user should replace the item in question. All bookings are subject to resource availability. Equipment can be collected or returned to the Main Library Helpdesk in the Central Area between the hours of 09:00 to 16:30 (Monday to Friday) only. You may not be able to collect or return equipment out with these times even if the Helpdesk is still open.
