LinkedIn Learning privacy policy

Details of data you will be sharing with LinkedIn, where it will be stored and how it may be used.

Data shared by the University

When you create your LinkedIn Learning account and log in using EASE, your UUN (University user name) and affiliation (e.g. 'staff', 'student') are shared by the University with the LinkedIn Corporation. This is the minimum data required to securely access the service.

User agreement

Before you use the service, you must accept the User Agreement through which you are agreeing to enter into a legally binding contract with LinkedIn. Your use of the service is also subject to LinkedIn's Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy which covers how they collect, use, share and store your personal information.

How your information will be used

Within the University this information may be used for analytics and reporting on uptake of the LinkedIn Learning service as this would be a legitimate interest for the University. For details about what the University and your LinkedIn network (if you link your Learning account with your personal LinkedIn profile) can and can't see about your learning history, view LinkedIn's Privacy Information for LinkedIn Learning Learners page.

More information about the data LinkedIn collects about you and how it is used and shared can be found within LinkedIn's Privacy Policy.

Data storage

Your data is securely stored on LinkedIn servers and may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the United Kingdom. You can find out more by visiting the LinkedIn Security webpage. You can read about the legal entities engaged in the storage and content delivery of Customer Personal Data by LinkedIn for related services on the LinkedIn Infrastructure Providers and Subprocessors webpage.

Archiving and deleting accounts

For information on account archiving and deletion, See Section 4: Your Choices & Obligations in the LinkedIn Privacy Policy.
