How to share your Office 365 calendar

Step-by-step guide to sharing your Office 365 calendar with colleagues in the University.

1. Sign in to Outlook on the Web by going to http://www.office365.ed.ac.uk     
2. Click on the Calendar tile > Share and select Calendar.

3. Type the desired name or email address of the account in the Share with box.

These appear from the Global Address List as you type and may be a member of your HR team, a functional account or some other account, such as your line manager. Your School or Unit can provide specific details.  

                                                                                                               

4. Choose the level of detail you wish to share:

Full details: Shows the time, subject, location, and other details of all items in your calendar.

Limited details: Shows the time, subject, and location, but no other information.

5. Edit the Subject if required and either choose Send to share or Discard to cancel.  

Note: Calendar items marked 'Private' are protected. Most accounts you share your calendar with see only the time of items marked Private, and not the subject, location, or other details. The only exception to this is that you can give a delegate permission to see the details of items marked Private.
