Our integration platforms connect different IT systems together, specifying which functions will be called and which data will flow between them. Image The platforms may connect to each system via APIs, if the system provides them. For older systems or where large amounts of data need to be transferred, the platforms may connect to databases or files. Immediate integrations When presenting information to a user, or implementing a task, a change in one system will need to be sent to other systems immediately. This is called event-driven integration, because the transfer of information is triggered by a change (an "event") in the first system. Event-driven integration can keep information up-to-date across multiple IT systems in a timely fashion. People who use these systems will see a consistent picture of the data. The University has adopted WSO2 Choreo as the preferred integration platform for event-driven integrations. Larger data transactions When larger data sets need to be transferred between systems, we use files or database copies. For more information, consult the EA team using the "Contact Us" button above.
