When Museums Galleries Scotland offered funding for Museums to enable remote engagement with collections, the Musical Instrument Collection was fortunate to gain support for an exciting project to make a suite of new videos. Three types of film have been made: 35 short demonstrations of a wide range of instruments from the Collection; 15 ‘talking-head’ educational films; and 6 concerts presenting music from a range of different traditions. The concerts are being released during August as a virtual Fringe series instead of the usual live concerts at St Cecilia’s Hall through the YouTube channel: St Cecilia's Hall: all things musical instruments - YouTube. All the videos, which are being shared throughout August and September, have been produced in partnership between ISG’s Library & University Collections and the Online Course Production Service.
